3G NETWORKS

A two-week AICTE Sponsored Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Trends and Research Aspectsin 3G Networks and Wireless Communications” was organized by Department of IT at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad from 29th May- 11th June, 2013. The event was inaugurated by Shri. Mahesh Kumar Seth - Sr. General Manager, A.L.T, Ghaziabad who was the Chief Guest during inaugural session of this event.

Mr. Divyanshu Sinha, Associate Professor, CSE Department, Dronacharya Group of Institutions participated in this FDP along with other 50 participants from different states including Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh etc.

Experts invited from industry, academia and research organizations including Dr. Karmeshu from JNU Delhi, Dr. B.V.R. Reddy from GGSIP University, Delhi, Dr. A. N. Gaikwad from BNCE Pusad, Maharashtra, Dr. D. J. Gupta from MMU, Mulana , Dr. P. Sateesh Kumar, IIT Roorkee, Dr. Vinay Rishiwal from MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, Mr. V. K. Solanki from Anna University conducted about 48 sessions covering different dimensions of wireless and 3G technology during the two weeks of FDP. They addressed the participants on various dimensions of the FDP and provided substantial input for future applications and made them aware of the ongoing researches taking place in the field of wireless communication and technology with research directions.

Mr. Prakash Pancholi, ALT Centre, Ghaziabad touched upon various wireless applications and infrastructure related issues in detail. He explained the process of setting up wireless communications infrastructure and enabling communication amongst the users within its periphery. To add to this a visit to Wireless labs of ALT Centre was also conducted where participants experienced the wireless applications and infrastructure in real time.

During the valedictory session, Dr. A. K. Puri - Director General, I.T.S Ghaziabad and Dr. Harish Kumar - Director (IT) awarded the participants with Certificates of Participation. Dr. Puri, in his address, expressed his satisfaction and happiness on successful completion of FDP. He reiterated that demand and expectations of various applications and tools in varying nature of domains are posing bigger challenge before academic fraternity and this FDP will provide ample inputs to respond to these expectations and challenges.
