Annual Day Celebrations at "Vishwas"

 

The Richmond Fellowship Society Delhi Branch

On the occasion of Annual Day of Vishwas, volunteers of DGI Smile Club and NSS Wing Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida visited Vishwas Rehabilitation Centre, Greater Noida on 05 March 2017 with the Prof. S.K. Bagga, Director, Dr. Abhishek Swami, Coordinator of DGI NSS Wing and Ms. Kiran Singh, Coordinator of Smile Club.

 

The event was graced with the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest Dr. Anurag Bhargav, Chief Medical officer (CMO) Gautam Buddha Nagar.

 

The event started with the lighting of lamp and Sarswati Vandna by the members of Vishwas. It was followed by a brief introduction about the Annual Day Program by Dr. Alok Sarin, President, Richmond Fellowship Society, Delhi Branch. Dr. Sarin presented a welcome address and explained the objective behind the setting up of Vishwas, a rehabilitation center for people suffering from Schizophrenia. Dr. S. K. Khandelwal, Member, Richmond Fellowship Society, Delhi Branchdescribed the journey of Vishwas since Year 1986.

 

Dr. K.M. Khurana, Founder Member, Richmond Fellowship Society, Delhi Branch said that mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well - being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

 

Dr. Anurag discussed the importance of mental health in individual’s life. He said that mental illnesses affect 19% of the adult population, 46% of teenagers and 13% of children each year. According to Dr. Anurag, mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood to adolescence through adulthood.

 

The program was marked with the mesmerizing performances of the members of Vishwas family. They presented a play entitled “Happiness and Family”. The Members of Vishwas family also exhibited their talent by presenting poetry, poem, songs and jokes. They captured the attention of everyone with their amazing performances.

 

Inmates of the Vishwas Rehabilitation Centre also played Holi with flower petals. This made the occasion more colourful and filled the ambience with joy and celebration.

 

The program came to an end with certificate distribution to the member of Vishwas by Prof. S.K. Bagga, Director, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. Mr. Apritam Singh, Volunteer of Smile Club, DGI Greater Noida extended his respect to Vishwas for their effort for treating people who are suffering from various mental disorders.
