DGI SMILE CLUB

DGI SMILE Club organized A Day Program to commemorate the First Foundation Day Celebration with great exuberance and zeal on 8th December, 2014. The event aimed to celebrate the spirit of SMILE on the completion of its one year enthusiastic journey of sharing smile with various sections of society.

The celebration was graced with the esteemed presence of the distinguished invitees Mr. V.S. Mathur, Secretary, The Richmond Fellowship Society Delhi Branch, Ms. Mridula Seth, Governing Council Member of the Richmond Fellowship Society and Ms. Urmila from Diksha Charitable School, Greater Noida.

Presence of innocent young kids of Diksha Charitable School and inmates of Vishwas added beauty to the celebration.

The event began with the floral welcome of the guests by Prof. M.S. Murali, Director, DGI, Prof. B.L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI and Prof. Abhishek Swami, HOD, Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities. Lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the  distinguished Guests marked the  inauguration of event  followed by invocation of Lord Ganesha.

Prof. M.S. Murali appreciated the efforts of SMILE Club and wished that the same rhythm of social service would be continued in future too. Prof. B.L. Kaul praised the spirit of SMILE for extending a helping hand to impart the moments of love and smile in various section of society.

Prof. Ashwani Kumar, appreciated zeal and team spirit of SMILE Club for making the humanity smile.

Dr. Shilpi Saxena, Coordinator,  DGI SMILE Club shared One year journey of DGI SMILE Club and the guiding factor behind the formation of SMILE Club. She also highlighted the land mark achievements of SMILE Club and laid out a road map for the future.

Mr. Mathur congratulated SMILE Club on its first anniversary and shared that SMILE Club is very popular among the inmates of Vishwas. Ms. Mridula Seth wished that the bond between SMILE and Vishwas may strengthen in future.

Prof. Abhishek Swami defined SMILE Club as a true reflection of love and humanity.

Prof. Sachin Gupta, HOD, Department of Computer Science & Engin motivated the students to expand the arena of SMILE to trigger more productive results. Prof. Rajeev Ranjan HOD EEE wished SMILE Club for a very bright future.

SMILE members also shared their memorable moments with the journey of SMILE. Saurabh Sharma Civil VII Sem shared his feelings for SMILE through a melodious self-composed poem.

Tiny tots  of Diksha Charitable School commenced the event with a colorful spray of their talent and captured the attention of everyone with their mesmerizing poems, songs and dance performances.

Vishwas inmates also expressed their love for SMILE and wished a long relationship with SMILE.

A Musical Preview of SMILE Journey presented by Saurabh Sharma CSE Vth Sem was indeed a treat for the spectators.

SMILE Volunteers Rachna, CSE V and Ashutosh ME III captivated the audience with their outstanding display of singing talent.

At the end Choclates and gifts distributed to Diksha students by SMILE Club and brought beautiful smile on their faces.
The event ended with the enthusiastic SMILE anthem “Zindagi Mil Ke Bitayenge” by all the members of SMILE followed by refreshment”.
