DIRECTOR’S MEET

National Entrepreneurship Network of Wadhwani Foundation organized Entrepreneurship Education Conclave in partnership with Ministry of Skill and Entrepreneurship Development, British Council and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 11th March 2015. Prof. TPN Singh Advisor (R&D) attended the “Directors and Faculty Advisory Board Members Roundtable Meet” held as part of the conclave.

The dignitaries present at the conclave were:

1. Mr. Sashi Chimala, Executive Vice President, NEN.

2. Ms. Jyotsna Sitling, IFS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

3. Dr. B. Satyanarayana, Principal, RVCE, Banglore.

4. Prof. M. S. Rao, Director, S. P. Jain Institute of Mgmt. & Research, Mumbai.

5. Mr. Onkar Bagaria, Director, Vivekananda Group of Institutions, Jaipur.

6. Ms. Vishnu Priya and Shri Uday Wankawala were NEN Moderators.

Ms. Joyeeta Das of NEN welcomed the dignitaries and members of the audience to the conclave. All the dignitaries were introduced by turn. She spoke on the rapid strides undertaken by NEN in the area of developing Entrepreneurs. NEN makes key programs available for network members- organization and individuals. These programs enable NEN to build capacity of the eco system and connect members across the network.

Mr. Sashi Chimala an alumni of N.I.T.I.E. highlighted his entrepreneurship experiences in the Silicon Valley of US and now joined NEN to spread entrepreneurship awareness amongst college students. The best place to start entrepreneurship is in educational institutes. It is heartening to note that one in three entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley is an Indian. NEN has built a strong network with 600 colleges, 4000 mentors and 3200 faculty in India whose sole aim is to inspire, educate and support emerging entrepreneurs. He gave examples of many startups spearheaded by NEN students. NEN’s approach to entrepreneurship development is multifold and focused on building sustainable capacity and resource in the Indian eco system. Outcomes are tracked on a well-defined scale of progressive and overall development goals.
