Green Mobility Expo 2015

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), Department of Heavy Industry and Automotive Research Association of India organized “Green Mobility Expo 2015” from 26th to 28th February, 2015 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Dr. Neeraj Bala, Assistant Professor and Ms. Astha Malhotra, Assistant Professor from Department of Applied Science and Humanities, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida along with twenty B. Tech first year students visited the Green Mobility Expo on 28th February, 2015. The objective of the visit was to enhance technical knowledge about the innovative technologies in the field of Green Mobility.

Key brands participating at Green Mobility Expo 2015 were TATA Motors, RENAULT-France, TOYOTA KIRLOSKAR, Maruti Suzuki, HERO Electric, KINETIC Motors and LOHIA Auto. There were some other products on display at that event ranging from hybrid bus, electric and hybrid cars, electric bikes/scooters, e-rickshaws, etc.

The visit started with Japan Pavilion which included key brands Maruti Suzuki, Panasonic, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters, Japan Rail East, Hitachi, Japan Science & Technology Agency (JST), Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric, Motherson Auto, NIDEC Corporation, Nippon Gasket, Sumitomo Electric, Toshiba Mitsubishi Electric, etc. among others.

After Japan Pavilion students visited GREEN MOBILITY pavilion that had key brands including TATA Motors, RENAULT-France, TOYOTA KIRLOSKAR, Maruti Suzuki, HERO Electric, KINETIC Motors, LOHIA Auto, amongst others, with different products on display.

Besides showcasing their latest green-tech products International Green Mobility Expo aimed to provide an active platform for the manufacturers of e-vehicle. It was one of the largest exhibitions for eco-friendly mobility, electric, hybrid and hydrogen vehicles, bicycles and car sharing models.

The students acquired a structured system-knowledge and understood advanced drive train technologies, such as hybrid and electric vehicles etc. by interacting with relevant people at expo. The students were also able to analyze complex systems technology towards sustainable mobility and automotive concepts.

Students interacted with the representative of the company and put forward their queries. It was a learning experience for the students.

This unique initiative provided a neutral platform to the entire stakeholders of this sector to come together and initiate dialogues to create a Green Mobility Solution for India.
