Events and Seminars

2nd National Project Competition 2013 was organized at Vivekanand Institute of Technology, Jaipur. The event was inaugurated by Dr. K. R Bagaria, Vice-Chairman & Managing Trustee, VIT Campus, Jaipur. Judges and main Keynote Speakers of the events were Prof. (Dr.) Amitava Babi Mitra, Chief of Distance Learning Programe Unit, BITS, Pilani and Prof. Anoop Singh Poonia, Pro Vice Chancellor, Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur.

Two groups of total 8 students from DGI, Greater Noida participated in the event.

Students from ECE Department, Ms. Tripti Tanwar, Mr. Ravi Sharma, Mr. Rahul Rawat and Mr. Anurag Sharma showcased their project titled “Bluetooth Enabled Blindman stick”. It was a working and a practically applicable project which attracted the audience much due to its features such as price (INR 2000 only), response time (in milliseconds), wireless connectivity (Bluetooth enabled), compact size, less weight and portability. The project was ranked amongst top 20 out of 123 projects in the competition. It won the Consolation Prize worth INR 1100.

Satyam Sarswat, Manish Kumar, Gopal Gupta, Sumeet Kumar from Mechanical Deptt. presented two projects. First was a working model, “Intelligent Car Parking System”. It used ATMEGA 8 microcontroller to manage and control different features which decreased the response time drastically and enabled the system to react instantly. The main features of the project were automatic backside obstacle detection, buzzer alert, easy integration, cost, etc.

Although their second project titled “Efficient Mechanical Wrench” was conceptual interpretation of theories but it attracted the judges attention and was admired especially by the Chief Guest Dr. K. R Bagaria and secured highest points in theory and concept section.
