ECO CLUB

ECO Club of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Workshop on Climate Change on 5th November, 2014. It was conducted by Mr. Anuj Kumar Dwivedi, City Coordinator, Green (R) evolution Action Against Climate Change ICCE - a Program Supported by UN Convention on Climate Change. The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among students about the present pitiable condition of our Mother Earth and its worst consequences to be faced by us.

The workshop started with the welcome note by Prof. M.S. Murali, Honorable Director, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. Prof. Murali said that we are suffering intensely from climate changes around the world, which has become a hazard to our economy and well being.

Mr. Anuj Diwedi, in his presentation, focused on various causes of climate change. He discussed the worst phases to be faced in near future if preventive measures are not taken. To prove his points he showed some of the videos of effect of climate change on earth. He said that our mother Earth is ill and we should take care of it. He gave an account of the temperature of earth of last 100 years which has increased by 4.5 o C. He suggested some measures to be initiated in order to save earth. He talked about various methods to control climate change with some efforts like planting trees, reduction of CFC’c, reduction of carbon emission and enforcement of strong laws.

The workshop came to an end with memento presentation to Mr. Anuj Diwedi by Prof. M.S. Murali. The workshop was thought provoking.
