INNOVATION SUMMIT 2014, a one day event was organized on the theme “Enhancing Innovative Capacities of MSMEs : Role of Banks, Financial Institutions and Training Providers” on 17th September, 2014 at PHD House, New Delhi. Ms. Komal Grover, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering along with 5 Students represented Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida at the event. Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Union Minister for MSME, Govt. of India presided over the summit as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed participants from industry, academia and the government sectors and was addressed by key policy makers from several organizations. |

The event commenced with an Inaugural address by Mr. Sharad Jaipuria, President, PHD Chamber. He welcomed the Chief Guest and the delegates to the event and shared the objectives of bringing MSMEs, financial institutions and the training providers on a common platform for synchronization of the efforts towards a common goal of the upliftment of the SMEs in India. |

The Theme address delivered by Mr. Mahesh Gupta, Vice President, PHD Chamber focused on the importance of Innovation in the contemporary scenario, and the role being played by the SMEs in this direction. Mr. Surender Nath Tripathi, Joint Secretary (SME), Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India also addressed the gathering and applauded the efforts being made by SMEs towards the economic growth of the country. The sessions were succeeded by the release of an android app for MSMEs which shall be beneficial to all stakeholders. |

Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Union Minister for MSME, Govt. of India in his Keynote address shared the vision of the Government of India towards the development of MSMEs in India. He emphasized the need of participative governance and the steps being taken by the Govt. for fast track growth of the MSMEs. |

Post the tea break; a session on “Innovative Strategies for Sustainable MSME Financing” was organized. The Speakers of the session included Mr. Ajay Thakur (Head BSE SME), Mr.Pradeep Sharma, Chief Manager, Consultancy Services Cell, State Bank of India, and Ms. Usman Rana (Head Northern Region, NSE). |

The Session was succeeded by a panel discussion and lunch for the participants. |

The second theme based session on “Enterprise and Skill Development for MSMEs” followed the lunch and included very informative talks from eminent speakers like Mr. A.K. Jha IES, Director General, NIESBUD, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, Dr. J. S. Juneja, Chairman, Global Projects & Services Pvt. Ltd.) and Ms. Ritu Marya, Editor-in-Chief, Franchise India Holdings Ltd. |

The Innovation Summit 2014 came to an end with a Valedictory Session and a Vote of Thanks by the organizers. |
