JAVA DEVELOPER DAY

Oracle Technology Network organized a Live Event at Hotel Hilton, New Delhi on 24th April 2014. The objective of the event was to explore the features of newly launched Java 8 Development Platform. Dr. Sarika Agarwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering, Dronacharya Group of Institutions attended the event as a delegate.

The Session started with the Key Note address by Mr. Simon Ritter, Head of Java Technology Evangelism, Oracle Corporation on “The Future of Java”. In his presentation he discussed the newly added features in Java SE 8.

In the First Technical Session Mr. Naveen Asrani, Director, Product Management at Oracle explained the underlying concepts of Java Platform with an in-depth analysis on Java and the Internet of Things. His presentation focused on the comprehensive platform for the entire Internet of Things architecture across all vertical markets.

In the second technical session, Mr. Kshitij Saxena from Oracle presented an overview of Java including the Past, Present and Future of the platform with the help of Cargo Tracker Project. Subsequent to his presentation, Mr. David from Oracle discussed the practical exposure on WebSocket Application with JSR 356.

The Event came to an end with a detailed analytical explanation of the Project Lambda by Mr. Simon Ritter, and a series of questions from the participants which were satisfactorily answered by the experts. The event equipped the participants with the latest knowledge of advancements in the Java development Platform.
