To commemorate the 139th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai PatelDGI SMILE Club celebrated the spirit of Nationality on 31st October, 2014. The event aimed to pay tribute to Sardar Patel for his valuable contribution in uniting India.
To spread the message of unity, equality and integrity among the future generation of India DGI SMILE Club volunteers with the coordinator Dr. Shilpi Saxena, Coordinator visited Deeksha Charitable School at Alpha- I.
The volunteers of SMILE Club made the children aware with the freedom movement of India and the role of Sardar Patel in making India a strong Nation.
The volunteers organized a quiz highlighting India’s freedom movement and poetry recitation for the children of Deeksha School. The children participated with full zeal and learnt a lot from the volunteers. The students of Deeksha school also came out with the patriotic poems. The participants was awarded and several gifts like chocolates, lunch box and color box were gifted to children by DGI SMILE Club.
The visit ended with the Manav Shrankhla made by the SMILE volunteers and Deeksha school children as a symbol of unity. The children took Rashtriya Ekta pledge. At the end National Anthem was sung by the children and volunteers of SMILE Club.
