TERA SEMINAR 2009

Seminar on TERA was held on DCE’s Greater Noida Campus on 18th July, 2009. Hon’ble Shri S. C. Narang Chairman SEPTAM, DRDO was the Chief Guest. The Seminar was organized under the prestigious patronage of Dr. Satish Yadav, the Chairmanship of Prof. (Dr.) R. N. Sharma, Principal Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Yadav, Dean Academics and Prof. (Dr.) J. K. Goyal HOD (MIE).

Energy is the eternal source of all kinds of human activities and a universal means of measuring the significance of these activities. In fact, energy happens to be a universal phenomenon and whatever happens under the sun is the expression of flow of energy in one form or another. Human societies require increasing amount of energy for industrial, commercial, domestic, agricultural and transport uses. Currently these needs are met with from short term, exhaustible fossil fuel supplies like petroleum, coal and natural gas. Attention has been recently diverted to the use of the renewable energy resources which are going to sustain in future.

For developing countries like India, large scale demand of heat energy for meeting day to day domestic, institutional and industrial requirements can be met by using solar thermal systems, bio-gas, wind energy, geothermal etc. i.e. non-conventional and renewable sources of energy. The objective of this Seminar was to focus on utilization, availability, transformation and application of conventional, non-conventional, renewable and secondary sources of energy. A sizeable number of high-spirited participants from amongst DCE’s own Faculty and those representing various Institutions from across the State made their presence felt. A number of Papers of substance were presented during the Conference enriching and enhancing its academic significance.
