A Brief Profile of Prof. Hema Sharda

Prof. Hema Sharda did her B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Hindu College, Delhi University and M. Tech. in Integrated Electronics & Circuitry from IIT Delhi. After completing her Ph.D. in Micro-electronics from the University of Western Australia (UWA), Prof. Sharda worked at RMIT Melbourne for 15 years. She then joined back at the UWA as Winthrop Professor in the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering. In 2005, Dr. Sharda was appointed Director of South Asia Relations at the UWA with a main aim of establishing sustainable strategic teaching and research partnerships with Indian Institutes, Universities and Research Organizations.

About the Higher Education Awareness Program conducted by Prof. Sharda on 23 Dec 2010

Prof. Sharda, accompanied by Dr. J P Dudeja, Advisor (R&D), visited DCE Gr Noida on 23rd Dec 2010. There she addressed the Faculty as well as the students of our College. The main theme of her presentation was to project the UWA as one of the top three universities in Australia. She informed about the various Research and Masters Programs available at the UWA and encouraged our Faculty and students to take advantage of the exclusive scholarships earmarked for India at the UWA. The Faculty and the students participated enthusiastically in the “Question-Answer Session”. They showed keen interest in these opportunities at the UWA. Overall it was a fruitful Awareness Program for the Faculty and the students of our College about the avenues in the UWA in particular and other foreign universities, in general.
