SHAHEED DIWAS - 2017

On 30th January 2017, the volunteers of Youth Action Group and NSS Wing of Dronacharya Group of Institutions (DGI), Greater Noida observed Shaheed Diwas in memory of freedom fighters who were martyred in India's freedom struggle. The event was observed by the students of DGI, Greater Noida in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gautam Buddh Nagar.

During the opening address, Director, DGI, Greater Noida Prof. S. K. Bagga highlighted the achievements of Gandhi ji’s and the role of his ideologies in the present day.  He also narrated stories of some freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief - Guest Mr. U. P. Singh, Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra explained Gandhi ji’s role in the freedom struggle. Guest of Honour Dr. I. D. Singh Yadav, Associate Professor, Govt. P. G. College, Noida talked about the contribution of Youth in Nation Building.

Prof. D. V. Bhise, HOD - Department of Mechanical Engineering highlighted the concepts of non - violence, self - sufficiency and universal welfare as presented by the Father of Nation.

Dr. Aditi Paul, HOD - Department of Information Technology talked about the Gandhian Philosophy as applicable to education and discipline.  She further discussed the relevance of Gandhian thoughts with the audiance.

Paying tribute to the Father of Nation and other freedom fighters, students Gurleen Kaur, Apratim, Jagriti, Akanksha Pokhriyal and Kunal Choprashared their thoughts. Divya Chaturvedi recited one of Bapu’s favourite melodious bhajan.

The Homage ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Sunil K. Mishra, Coordinator, DGI NSS Wing.
