AMAZON PLACEMENT DRIVE

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida hosted the campus placement drive for Amazon.Com for B.Tech 2014 batch on 22nd August 2014. The eligible branches of B.Tech are CSE, IT, ECE and ME.

Amazon.com Inc. is an American international electronic commerce company with headquarters in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is the world's largestonline retailer. Amazon.com started as an online bookstore, but soon diversified, selling DVDs, VHSs, CDs, video and MP3 downloads/streaming, software, video games, electronics, apparel, furniture, food, toys, and jewelry andis a major provider of cloud computing services.Amazon has separate retail websites for United States, United Kingdom, France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Japan, China, India and Mexico, with sites for Sri Lanka and South East Asian countries coming soon. It also offers international shipping to certain other countries for some of its products.

Ms. Ramya Galla - Head HR along with her 10 delegate TEAM visited the college to facilitate the event.Around 450+ students from various colleges like, ABES, DCE GGN, DGI GN, Accurate , Amity etc. participated in the activity.

The process started at 10:00 AM with 7 rounds of prescreening. The first round was a group discussion in which all the students were divided in groups of 20. They were all checked on their correct usage of Grammar and fluency in English. The first round was the major hurdle to pass as the company only shortlisted average of 4 students per group. The next round was a Grammar test in which the students were judged on their English writing abilities. Passing this hurdle, the shortlisted students proceed to the third phase which was a VERSANT test. This was online in nature in which the students were asked to listen to some wave files and asked to interpret it. It was a combination of listening, writingand comprehending. Nextphase was technical round in which the students were grilled to check their Technical skills. It was a 4 phase activity with elimination in each one.

After a day full of buzzing placement activities, the event came to a rest at 09:00 PM with a vote of thanks for our Hon’ble Director- Dr. M S Murali.
