Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida hosted the campus placement for IBM India Pvt. Ltd. on April 6th, 2014 for B.Tech Batch 2012/2013. All branches of B. Tech were eligible to participate in this drive. This was a diversity pool drive and was meant especially for females. The aim was to bring the equality in gender ratio at IBM. Around 150 students from 15+ colleges participated in the online test. Ms. Amrita Paul, Ms. Adyasha Sahu and Mr. Bharat V Shetty visited the college to facilitate the procedure.
IBM India Private Limited is the Indian subsidiary of IBM. It has facilities in Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh, Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.
Between 2003 and 2007, IBM's head count in India has grown by almost 800%, from 9,000 in 2003 to nearly 74,000 in 2007. Since 2006, IBM has been the multinational with the largest number of employees in India. IBM is very secretive about the geographic distribution of its employees. By most estimates, it has close to a third of its 4.3 lakh employees (~ 1,50,000) in India and it likely has more employees here than in the US.
The registration started at 8:30 AM with the validation of testimonials of the candidates. The first test was Aptitudetest consisting of 36 questions - 18 series + 18 quantitative. (2 minutes 15 seconds for each question). The duration of this test was 60 minutes. Post the completion of this test, the 75 candidates were shortlisted for the next round which was English Test (22 question from 20 minutes). This consisted of basics of English mail writing etiquettes and salutations etc.
After the second test, 24 candidates were shortlisted for the final interview round. The venue will be communicated to the candidates shortly.
The proceedings ended at 5:00 PM with a Vote of Thanks from Prof. (Dr). M. S. Murali, Director, DGI, Greater Noida to the delegates.
