February 13th, 2014

Department of Training & Placement - Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Career Oriented Training session by Society for Human Development and Research on February 13th, 2014. The session was targeted to train and motivate the Pre final year and final year students and make them aware of the present market scenario and the various career options available to them post completion of B.Tech.

Society for Human Development and Research is a registered NGO, working in the field of Education since last 15 years .It has a team of professionals and counselors and has association with Faculty from premiere institutes like IITs and DTU.

Mr. P.V. Jain, Society for Human Development and Research visited the premises along with him TEAM of 4 other Trainers/motivators. The session started at 10:30 AM. The introductory part of the session started with an interactive round in which the Trainers showed motivational video of Nick Vujicic to the students.

Nick Vujicic :- An Australian Christian Evangelist and Motivational Speaker born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs. He has also launched a non-profit organization, ‘LIFE WITHOUT LIMBS’, to spread his messages of faith and hope around the world.

After the portrayal of this motivational video Mr. Jain introduced himself and team to the audience. Subsequently he moved towards the actual contents of the presentation. He stated that everyone should have pre-planned aim about professional life, which means knowing what to do, when to do and why to do.

He stated that it is good to ask questions, however right questions asked at the wrong time could prove to be wrong. He narrated a story from the past to showcase this .The story goes like this, “There was a teacher who was very approachable by the students. He always welcomed any questions from them. However, there was a one student who always used to nag him with silly questions. One day while travelling in a boat with his student, he asks him to get down off the boat and raise his query. The level of the water reached above his head and the student asked for his master’s help. To this he pushed him twice below the water and then pushed him in the boat.”

The moral of the story is, Always ask right question, at right time and secondly always try to do your homework before seeking help.

After this he told the students about various career options available after B.Tech. Some of them are as follows:-

1. Indian Engineering Services (IES)

2. Corporate Sector – Private Sector

3. Public Service Units

4. Entrepreneurship

This was followed by a quiz session in which questions related to General knowledge and current affairs.

The session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Hon’ble Director, Dr. M. S. Murali, DGI, Gr. Noida and Registrar – Prof. B. L. Kaul, DGI, Gr. Noida.
