EFFUSION 2013

Overwhelming response to registration of participants in indoor and outdoor sports, edge to edge competition of scoring maximum points, cheer leaders cheering their respective participants and finally shower of medals and prizes, concluded the Effusion 2013 during 08th-09th March 2013 at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. This year four new sport events, i.e. Musical Chair, Athletics, Mini Soccer and Mini Cricket was included.

The event was inaugurated on 08th March 2013 by Mr. Sudarsan Chakraborti, GM (Project Engg.), Mechanical NTPC Noida.

On the inaugural day the league matches for Volleyball were played and four teams CSE (Sr.), IT (Sr.), ME (Sr.), ECE (Sr.) qualified for the semifinals. In Badminton, first knock out round was played in which 250 Boys and 17 Girls participated.

In Tug of War, four matches were held. Knock out matches were held for Athletics, Mini Soccer and Mini Cricket and for indoor games Carrom, Chess, Pool, Billiards and Table Tennis.

On second day, in Volleyball two semifinals, one between CSE (Sr.) and IT (Sr.) & second between MIE (Sr.) and ECE (Sr.) were played. Badminton semifinal was also played and Asad Hashmi, Ashish Kumar ECE (VIII Sem.) & Nishit Priya (IT-IInd Sem) won the final in the Boys Double and Girls category respectively. In Lemon Spoon Race, Neha Srivastava CSE IV won the race. In Pool Naval Sharma (ME VIII Sem) won the final and in billiard Anshul Sood ECE won the final game.

Final match of Volleyball between CSE (Sr.) and IT (Sr.) was played and CSE (Sr.) won the tournament. Tug of War final was flagged by Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Satish Yadav. ME (Sr.) won the tournament. In Carrom final match was played between Nikesh Kumar (MCA II Sem) and Dhruv Khanna (CE IInd Sem) and Nikesh Kumar won the match. In Table Tennis, final match was played between Jaspreet (ME IInd Sem.) & Vishu Ahuja (ME II Sem) and Jaspreet won the match in the Boys Category, in the Girl category final match was played between Richa Sharma (ECE VI Sem) & Akansha Sharma (ECE VI Sem.) , Richa Sharma (ECE-VI) won the match.

Ms. Anjali, ECE IV Sem. Won the musical chair. In Mini Soccer, the final match was played between ME (Ist Sem.) and IT (Sr.) teams, ME Ist Sem. won the trophy.

The final of Mini Cricket was played between CSE (Sr.) and ME (Ist Sem.), CSE (Sr.) won the match.

The sports meet concluded with distribution of Medals and Certificates by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Satish Yadav during valedictory function held on 09th Mar 2013. Chairman Sir highlighted the importance of sports in student’s life and motivated students to participate in sports with full zeal. Sir further added that sports inculcate the team spirit & discipline in the students which helps them when they join industry and have to work in a team.
