ENGINEERING MECHANICS

The Department of Applied Science & Humanities of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Guest Lecture on Engineering Mechanics on 4th April, 2014 for the first year students of CSE, CSIT, IT, ECE and EEE Branches. Dr. Brajesh Tripathi, School of Engineering, Gautam Budha University, Greater Noida was the resource person. The objective of this workshop was to impart and enhance knowledge of Engineering Mechanics.

Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Murali, Director, DGI, Greater Noida welcomed Dr. Tripathi by presenting a bouquet and introduced the guest to the students. Prof. B. L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI, Greater Noida and Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Administrator Academics, DGI, Greater Noida also graced the occasion by their esteemed presence.

Dr. Tripathi started with introduction of Engineering Mechanics and the explained various units used in the subject. He covered in detail the topics like Force System, First and Third law of motion, moment and couple, Vectors-representation and operation, principle of transmissibility, equilibrium, free body diagrams and resultant of two dimensional concurrent forces and their applications.

Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Murali appreciated the efforts and involvement of Dr. Brajesh Tripathi in motivating our students by presenting a memento. Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Academic Administrator, DGI, Greater Noida urged the need of such lectures in various subjects on frequent basis. Prof. B. L. Kaul, DGI, Greater Noida encouraged and valued the students for their involvement and interaction.
