MATLAB

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized one day workshop on “Fuzzy Logic and Neural Networks based on MATLAB” on 3rd April, 2014. Inaugural session started with welcoming of Mr. Atul Rajput, Manager and Mr. Ishan Verma, Research Engineer, CETPA Pvt. Ltd. Prof. (Dr.) M.S. Murali, Director, Prof. B.L.Kaul, Registrar, HODs and faculty members of the different engineering branches of DGI, Gr. Noida graced the occasion with their valuable presence.

Prof. (Dr.) M.S. Murali  addressed the participants and motivated them students to get benefitted from the workshop.He appreciated the efforts of faculty and staff members of EEE Department for organising the workshop.

Mr. Rajput  gave a brief on different toolboxes of MATLAB and different technologies like VHDL System, VERILOG, PLC & SCADA, Robotics, Embedded System and Advanced Industrial Automation.

Mr. Verma explained the evolution and basics of MATLAB and then demonstrated toolboxes of MATLAB and their utilities to real life applications. He discussed the MATLAB Programming, Simulation and Fuzzy Logic Toolbox and its application to the different branches of engineering. The students installed the MATLAB software on their laptop and underwent hands - on training and learned how to implement the Fuzzy Logic in real life problems.

Post lunch, Mr. Verma helped participants in sorting-out problems encountered during programming and demonstrated the neural network toolbox of MATLAB to the students with engineering application. Students were given different engineering model to simulate which was evaluated at the end of the event. Finally a Quiz Competition was held on the basis of the content delivered throughout the workshop and three students (Shobhit Kumar Singh – EEE VI Sem, Chitwan Jain - EEE VI Sem and Ramneek Pratap Singh Parihar – ECE VI Sem) were awarded with the Certificate of Honor by Prof. Murali.

In valedictory function, Prof. Murali appealed to the participants to apply their learned concepts of Fuzzy Logic & Neural Networks in their projects and to publish research papers in National & International Conferences and Journals. The workshop ended with the Vote of Thanks by Prof. Rajiv Ranjan, HOD, EEE, DGI, Gr. Noida.
