Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in association with NITTTR Chandigarh, through ICT MHRD, New Delhi organized a Short Training Course on “Microcontroller based Embedded System” mode at its Network Center from 6th to 10th January 2014. Fifty seven participants from DGI and six other Network Centers participated through ICT for the STC. |
Day One
Mrs. Ritula Thakur coordinator of the program, started the session with the introduction of Chief Guest Prof. (Dr) M P Poonia, Director, NITTTR chandigarh , Prof. (Dr) S. Chatterji, Head, Electrical Engineering Department and Prof. (Dr) P.K. Tulsi, Education & Educational Management Department, NITTTR Chandigarh. It was followed by a welcome note from Prof. (Dr) S. Chatterji. He welcomed all participants at various network centers and discussed about the course curriculum and the role of microcontroller in real world applications. |
Prof. (Dr) M.S. Murali Director Dronacharya Group of Institutions Greater Noida was the Chief Guest for inaugural session at DGI Network Center. In his welcome note he extended his warm wishes to all the dignitaries of NITTTR and asked all the participants to participate in STC with full zeal and attention. |
In his inaugural speech, Prof. (Dr) M. P. Poonia discussed the role and responsibilities of teachers in technical engineering colleges. He also threw light on current status and the challenges of Indian Education System. He started his session with a very inspiring PPT on teaching-learning scenario. He discussed the modern education system. To improve the quality of teacher he stressed upon on 3Es, i.e.
1. Expansion of Education
2. Excellence in Education
3. Equity for all |
He also discussed the five most important role of technical institute on five points:
1. Staff Development
2. Curriculum Development
3. Instructional Material Development
4. Research and Development
5. Extension Services and Consultancy |
Prof. Poonia also discussed the shortcoming of our examination system. He said that in India there is one examination system to judge all types of students. As per the requirement, the evaluation process must be changed. |
Secondly he commented on the curriculum of the university. Teachers seem to be highly relaxed and students are overburdened. Universities are just charging money from the students. |
First Technical Session was conducted started by Mrs. Ritula Thakur on by Introduction of Microcontroller. She explained the difference between microprocessor and microcontroller. |
Day Two
Mrs. Ritula Thakur started the session explaining the architecture of 8051 microcontroller, its instruction set memory management and timing cycles. |
In her second session she demonstrated programming on KEIL simulator. She also demonstrated the interfacing of microcontroller using C language and KEIL simulator . |
Day Three
Prof. (Dr) S. Chatterji explained the implementation of microcontroller in Speed Control of DC Motor. He also demonstrated the use of microcontroller in industry. |
Mr. D.S. Karanjkar delivered half session lecture on use of microcontroller in process management industry. |
Day Four
Mr. Prateek Gupta delivered his lecture on Proteus Software. Proteus is a software for microprocessor simulation, schematic capture, and printed circuit board (PCB) design. It has been developed by Labcenter Electronics. The XGame Station Micro Edition was designed using Labcenter's Proteus schematic entry and PCB layout tools. |
Day Five
Mr. Prateek Gupta demonstrated Proteus Software and explained the PIC, AVR and ARM. He also showed the real world application of microcontroller. |
The valedictory session started at 2:00 PM Mrs. Ritula Thakur invited all network centers’ Chief Guest and asked for feedback from the participants. Mrs. Thakur specially thanked the participants from Dronacharya Group of Institutions for making the five days session interactive through their active participation. |
