International Students Day

To commemorate the spirit of International Students Day, DGI Literary Club organized an Essay Competition and a Group Discussion on 17th November, 2014 at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. Aatmika Shree, Student Coordinator, Literary Club, welcomed the Director, Dr. M. S. Murali, the Registrar, Prof. B. L. Kaul, and the Administrator, Mr. Ashwani Kumar, presenting them roses.

Aatmika Shree introduced the topic of the essay ‘Is Knowledge Power? Do you agree that power corrupts?’ 20 Students took part in this competition. The topic of the discussion was ‘Shikshit Bharat, Saksham Bharat’- Quality Education for All. The purpose of the essay competition was to judge the argumentative skills of the students.

The aim of the discussion was to bait the fresh ideas from the students. It was also the display of their intellectual muscle and oratorical skills. 15 participants delved deep into the root cause of the educational problems.

Here are some of the recommendations and suggestions which came after the churning of the young minds.

1. Practical exposure should be prioritized.

2. Education should liberate from the ignorance.

3. More fund should be sanctioned to Education

4. Mental power of the young India should be utilized in India also.

5. Education must be wisdom oriented.

The winners of the essay competition are:

1. Aditi Biswas	9195 (ECE 1st Sem)	1st Prize
2. Rikankshi Joshi	8085 (CSE III)	2nd Prize

The winners of the discussion are:

1. Sarvesh Kumar Gupta	8508 (CE III Sem)	1st Prize
2. (i) Saurabh Sharma	6509 (CE VII Sem)	2nd Prize
(ii) Nikhil Sharma	9358 (ME-ISem)	2nd Prize

Altogether it was an intellectual audio-visual treat for both the participants and the audience.
