Industrial Problems on Machines and Mechanisms (IPRoMM-2014)

 

February 26th - 27th, 2014

   

11th National Conference on Industrial Problems on Machines & Mechanism (IPRoMM-2014) was organized by ITS Engineering College, Greater Noida under the aegis of Association for Machines and Mechanisms (AMM) and International Federation for the promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) during February 26th - 27th, 2014. Mr. Brijesh Verma, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering along with two students Charit Pant and Deepankar Mondal ME VI Semester of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida presented a research paper in the conference.

 

On the first day the program started with Lighting of Lamp by the dignitaries. It was followed by welcome note by Dr. Vineet Kansal, Conference Chair, Dr. S. S. Chauhan, Convener, Prof. Sanjay Yadav, Co-Convener and Mr. Md. Kamal Asif Khan, Organizing Secretary.

 

Technical Session started with lectures from Prof. R.A. Khan, Galgotia University on CAD/CAM designing software. Mr. Chaman Singh, Deputy Manager, New Holland, Fiat (India) Pvt. Ltd. Greater Noida presented his lecture on latest technology used in tractor industry. Mr. Manish Gupta, Sr. Consultant, Larsen & Turbo Limited (L&T), Faridabad presented his lecture on the application of Mechanisms towards benefit of society, importance of time management. He encouraged students towards specialization of engineering skills by sharing his 20 years of industrial experience.

 

Air Comdr. S. S. Saxena, Auto Wings, Greater Noida, elaborated on importance of different sophisticated Man-Machine interfaces that he worked on Fighter Aircrafts. He also advised students to inculcate better behavioral skills, personality and focus on not just good professional knowledge but application of it too with habit of reliability factor with timely delivery of work. Mr. Naresh Bhagat, Lelogix Design Solution Pvt. Ltd. discussed about the application of simple mechanism for general problems and showed different ongoing projects on drinking water transportation system, stair lift for people on wheel chair etc.

 

Second day started with workshops on Robotics Awareness by Mr. Atul Thakur, Assistant Professor, IIT Patna on Bio-inspired Robotics, Robot Motion Planning Problems and different robot simulation software. Mr. Sandeepan Bandhopadhyay, IIT Madras, discussed about page turning Robots, Load Lifting Robot and Manual Tricycle for disabled. This was followed by research paper presentation by selected participants on different topics including the topic ‘Process Variable Optimization for Dimensional Accuracy of G.I. Castings Produced by V-Process’ presented by students Charit Pant, DeepankarMondal and faculty Mr. Brijesh Verma.
