Career Oriented Training by LEARNER’S NOOK

Training & Placement Department- Dronacharya Group of Institutions organized a Career Oriented Training Session by LEARNER’s NOOK on January 28th, 2014. The session was targeted to fill the skill gaps of the Pre Final Year and Final Year students and make them aware of the present market scenario.

 

Learner’s Nook is the training arm of Mallikarjun Technologies Private Limited, a young and dynamic company, growing at a very rapid rate, providing high quality services and solutions in IT and software consultancy to its national and International clients.

 

Ms. Arash Brar- COO from Learner’s Nook visited the premises along with her TEAM of 4 other Trainers. The session started at 11:00 AM.

 

The introductory part of the session started with an interactive round in which the Trainers showed a Coffee mug to the students and asked them why is Java depicted by a Coffee Mug symbol. The students gave the right answer and won some goodies and coffee mug as a reward. Similarly some more questions were asked in the beginning of the session in order to arouse curiousness amongst the students.

 

The actual session stared with the formal session by Ms. Brar. She started with her introduction and introduced all the trainers. Subsequently she moved towards the actual contents of the presentation. She stated that any fresher to achieve his/her dream always faces the following hindrances:-

1. Unpolished personality and skills

2. Lack of Practical exposure

3. Lack of knowledge about market demand

4. Lack of focus on HR interviews.

 

The idea is to overcome these hindrances and pave way for the growth of oneself. Next she narrated this with a much known example of Amitabh Bachchan. She stated that he has got all the qualities needed to become a successful person. He is a combination of Speech, Leadership, Physical and mental attributes, Dressing and soft skills. He is a finest example of some come coming from a very humble background and touching the zenith of success.

 

“Do one thing every day that scares you the most”- Ms. Eleanor Roosevelt- Former first lady of US. She quoted this paraphrase and stated that one needs to recognize his strengths and overcome the weaknesses. Things like, failure, lack of introspection and low confidence can lead to trouble in working efficiently in TEAM.

 

The acquisition of soft skills like Leadership, Negotiations, Flexibility, Communications are the key players in today’s corporate scenario and one must stick to them. The technical skills are just a door way to enter the corporate environment but it is the soft skills which actually are needed to sustain a person in the corporate environment.

 

She further stated that the top 5 technologies in market at the moment are:-

1. Java Technology

2. Android

3. Cloud Computing

4. Python

5. Linux.
