Workshop on ‘Renewable Energy Simulation Using MATLAB’

March 25th, 2014

IEEE Student Branch of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a workshop on ‘Renewable Energy Simulation Using MATLAB’ in association with IEEE Delhi Section on 25th March, 2014. The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by Dr. Prerna Gaur, Secretary IEEE Delhi Section, Prof. M.S. Murali, Director, DGI, Greater Noida, Prof. B.L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI Greater Noida and Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Academic Administrator DGI, Greater Noida.

Prof. M.S. Murali welcomed Dr. Prerna Gaur, Senior Member, Secretary, IEEE Delhi Section and Chairperson of IEEE PELS-IES Delhi Chapter.

The faculty of various colleges of NCR along with 110 Students from DGI, Greater Noida attended the workshop. This programme was intended to provide opportunity for researchers, faculty and students to upgrade their knowledge in the area of MATLAB.

The workshop had two technical sessions that were structured to discuss MATLAB. During the first, technical session Dr. Gaur explained that anyone can test algorithms immediately without recompilation. One can type something at the command line or execute a section in the editor and immediately see the results, greatly facilitating algorithm development. The ability to auto-generate C code using MATLAB Coderfor a large (and growing) subset of image processing and mathematical functions, which you could then use in other environments, such as embedded systems or as a component in other software.

During the second, technical session she discussed about the Concepts of Digital Image Processing, GUI commands and Simulink’s with Programming and 2D & 3D graphics. Scientists and Engineers in the oil and gas and electric power industries use MATLAB and Simulink products to develop, test, and implement increasingly complex financial and engineering models and analyze substantial volumes of data with gain workflow improvements through automation.

At the end students shared their view point on the different issues related to MATLAB.

The workshop came to an end with Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sarika Gupta, Branch Counselor. She thanked Dr. Prerna Gaur for sparing the valuable and precious time.

Subsequent to this a valedictory session was held. Prof. M.S. Murali distributed the certificates to all the participants.
