Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a session with MICROSOFT India for the students. The session was organized on December 12th, 2013 at the college premises.
Mr. Divya Pratap Gulati , Senior Software Engineer visited the premises to facilitate the same. Mr. Gulati holds a post graduate degree in computer sciences from the US state University and is a part of Microsoft’s ‘Bing App Experience India’ since years.
The session started at 10:00 am with an introduction session by Mr. Gulati. He started with advising the students about the working culture of Microsoft in India and The US. He stated that the average age group of the employees is 35-40 years and it’s a very young work culture there. He stated that most of the people are always dressed in casuals and there is no fundamental of being always dressed formally.
The next thing which he discussed was about the importance of pursuing one’s hobbies in life. He stated that he is with MS just because he followed his instincts and computer coding has always been his hobby. Right from the time when he did not know that he wanted to become a software engineer he has been coding computer algorithms and with the passing time he became so proficient in them that he could crack the MS interviews.
Furthermore, the students asked about various programs MS has for the fresher level. He discussed about the various internship programs and the hiring criteria for the fresher level.
One of the students raised a question about how MS manages to get so many innovative ideas and techniques every day to which Mr. Gulati replied that they have a very strong Research and Development TEAM which works religiously and are always on their toes to get something new every day.
The ability to deal with the failures was also discussed with the students and he stated that the mantra is just to flow with the flow and the opportunities never stops.
Mr. Gulati also asked various questions to the students pertaining to their project work and practical aspects of their project models.The session came to an end at 11:00 am with lot of insight about Microsoft in our students’ mind and a zeal to crack Microsoft’s tough hiring procedure.
