SARASWATI POOJA

The Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida campus adorned the Colours of Spring, with flamboyant decorations, and a spirit of enthusiasm amongst the students and staff members who gathered together to celebrate annual “Saraswati Pooja” on the occasion of Vasant Panchmi, 4th February, 2014.

‘Vasant’ comes from the word ‘spring’ as this festival heralds the beginning of the spring season. It is believed that on this day Goddess Saraswati was born. Dronacharyans celebrate Vasant Panchami with great fervor every year. The most significant aspect of VasantPanchami is that it is also the most auspicious day to begin laying one’s foundations of education of how to read and write. Pre-school children are given their first lesson in reading and writing on this day.

The students of Dronacharya Group of Institutions join hands with the staff members for invoking Goddess Saraswati, and seeking her blessings on this auspicious occasion.

A ‘havan’ was organized on the occasion to offer tribute to the Goddess of Learning amidst the chants of the Vandana of MaaSaraswati, led by Prof. B. L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI and Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Academic Administrator, DGI. All staff members, and the students joined thefestivity. The proceedings began with the recitation of the hymn:
