Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida

 

NATIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUMMIT, New Delhi

   

A one day National Employability Summit was organized by ENGINEERING WATCH in association with iNurture Education Solutions and ACE Engineering Academy at Constitution Club of India, Rafi Marg, New Delhi on 27th November 2013. A total of 50 training and placement officers from different engineering institutions and universities participated in this event. Mr. Divyanshu Sinha Placement Co-ordinator,Computer Science Department represented Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in this event. Mr Raghav Mittal, Editor Engineering Watch was the host of the event.

 

The event was inaugurated by Dr. S.S Mantha, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

 

The summit comprised of three sessions. The first session was based on Employability in Public Sector Undertakings. Dr. Diwakar Goyal, GM( HR) Airports Authority of India started this session by urging the engineering institutes to train and develop managerial skills in the budding engineers. Mr. S.N. Tripathi, Joint Secretary Ministry of Small & Medium Enterprises stressed on the vast generation of employment for engineering graduates through the judicious use of Small & Medium Enterprises. Mr. V.K. Singh, Deputy General Manager Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. emphasized the emerging need of using Process Automation in the Power Grids and heavy requirement of trained engineers to maneuver this kind of sophisticated equipment.

 

The second session focused on Employability in Defence & Intelligence Sector. This session was inaugurated by Prof. Kamalkant Dwivedi, Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University. Captain RK Yadav, Director Manpower & Planning, Indian Navy appealed to all the participants present there to motivate their students to join Indian Navy which will have ever increasing requirement of young and enthusiastic students. He reiterated the fact that the perks and salary packages being offered in the Navy are far superior than the corporate sector. Major General Gurmukh Singh, VSM Commander HQ Technical Grade (EME) spoke about the respect that an individual command in the Indian Army, the job security and other benefits of joining the Indian Army.

 

The final session on job opportunities in private sector comprised of a number of noted dignitaries such as Mr. Neeraj Sharma, Founder of IFI Realty; Mr. B Ashoka (Inurture) and Mr. R Laxminarayanan (Head, Inurture Education Solutions). All the above dignitaries stressed on the evolution of entrepreneurship as major source of employment for the youth of this country.
