A Training Program by BOSCH Automotive Limited

 

(18th-21st March 2013)

   

A Training Program on Automobiles by Bosch Training Centre, BOSCH Automotive, and the world's largest supplier of advanced electronic automotive systems was held from 18th-21st March, 2013 at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. The program was meant for III year students of Mechanical Engineering.

 

Vehicle manufacturers from around the world rely on Bosch for innovation and technical expertise. Bosch is market leader in developing new vehicle systems, which provides direct access to the valuable information required for training courses and market leading range of diagnostic equipment. This training course followed a vehicle systems based approach as opposed to a vehicle specific approach so that the skills learnt can be applied across all makes of vehicles.

 

The training program was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Murali, Director DGI. Mr. Parag Kavthekar, Regional Trainer, Bosch Automotive and Mr. Gaurav Dixit, Local Trainer Bosch Automotive were the resource person for the inaugural day.

 

At the outset Mr. D. V. Bhise HOD (Mechanical) welcomed the speakers and briefed the students about the importance of this training program.

 

The training program was divided in theory and practical session; theory session was conducted in the college campus whereas Practical session was conducted at Bosch Training Centre, New Delhi.

 

Following topics were covered during the four day training program:

 

Day one

1. Overview of the products exclusively invented by BOSCH Limited.

2. Diesel equipment

3. Fuel Pump- Classification, working, types.

4. Governor- Importance, working,

5. Alternator

 

Day Two

Starting system-starter motor alternator and dynamo

FUEL SYSTEM-Fuel Injection

1. Fuel tank, fuel supply pump, filter, fuel injection pump, overflow valve, nozzle, holder assembly, return valve {detail description}

2. Task of fuel injection equipment

a) Combustion chamber {detail}

b) CRDI-direct injection

c) IDI-indirect injection

d) TDI-turbo diesel injection

3. Fuel filters

a) Step

b) Parallel

4. Delivery valve structure

 

Day Three

After completing theory portion on first two days, Practical session was conducted on day three and day four at Bosch Regional Training Centre, Mathura Road, Delhi. Working of fuel pump, governor was shown to the students first and then fuel pump was dismantled to show various components. Functioning of valves was explained and demonstrated to the students. CRS and CRDI was also demonstrated to the students.

The training sessions saw lot of queries from the students, which were answered by the resource person to the students’ satisfaction. The training program ended on 21st March 2013.
