WORKSHOP ON CLOUD COMPUTING

Department of Information Technology, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Workshop on Cloud Computing on 13th February, 2015. The workshop was conducted by IIHT Limited, Noida with a team comprising of Ms. Abha Choudhary, Center Director IIHT, Mr. Kartik Atri, North Head, Ms. Smita Kanth, Academic and Training Head, Mr. Arun Ojha, Cloud Trainer and Ms. Pooja, Ms. Manpreet and Ms. Ayushi.

The objective of the workshop was to offer a comprehensive knowledge about cloud computing and its competitiveness to increase opportunities for students in software industry and give them exposure to a hands-on session of cloud.

The event began with the floral welcome of the experts by Prof. (Dr.) SK Bagga, Honorable Director and Prof. BL Kaul, Honorable Registrar, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida.

Then Mr. Arun Ojha started to explain the importance of cloud computing in IT industry. He versed the students with this new technology in great detail and explained the three layers of the cloud architecture. The students were also given a practical display of virtualization and provided a complete knowledge of cloud computing. This helped them to understand about cloud architecture, frameworks and more technical specifications. He discussed the names of some organizations that are operating in cloud computing business.

In his closing speech, Prof. (Dr.) SK Bagga spoke about how students will benefit by understanding the latest innovative expertise in the present software industry from workshops. He also encouraged them to participate enthusiastically in such workshops which give them practical knowledge and then keep on practicing those newly-learnt concepts so that it might be of use to them for the placements.

40 students from IT and CSE department enthusiastically participated in the workshop.
