Workshop by National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN)

JIMS, New Delhi

A workshop by ‘National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN)’ was held at ‘Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), Kalkaji, New Delhi’ on 25th January, 2014 on the theme ‘Successful Leadership’. Students from institutes namely JIMs - New Delhi, FDDI - Noida, Apeejay School of Management, IILM - Greater Noida, IMT - Ghaziabad participated in the workshop. Following faculty and students from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the workshop:

The resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Sanjay Kapoor and Ms. Kalpana. The workshop was inaugurated at 9.00 AM by Mr. Sanjay Kapoor who emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in present times of technological marvel. The spirit of entrepreneurship is present to some degree in every individual and has to be exploited by mentors and guides. Formal education is a bridge from source to sink. One must imbue great innovators like Steve Jobs, Vinod Dham, Sabeer Bhatia and others as guideposts for the spirit of entrepreneurship.

 

Session on ‘Inspired leadership’ was very enthusiastically heard by the audience. Achievement motivation and the Japanese system of management was explained in detail. It was discussed that the institutions should provide systematic approach, effort and resources to create strong platforms for leadership development.

 

‘Building and leading team’ was discussed in great detail. It was stated that team work and collective responsibility is the maxim adopted by the organizations these days. Puzzle games give an insight as to the type of leadership one can acquire.

 

Post lunch session covered topics namely ‘Real world experience: campus companies, student ventures and start-up internships’ and ‘Challenges faced by e-cells and solutions’. Regional collaboration e-leaders and vision 20-20 were also discussed in the session.

 

Post tea session discussions were held on ‘Joining Hands; collaboration, regional e-cells, recognition and yearlong engagement’. Through flow chart yearlong e-cell engagement process and annual recognition for e-leaders were explained.

 

The workshop concluded at 5:00 PM with distribution of certificates to the participants.
