Skills in Management and Applied Sciences

24th & 25th April 2017

 

A Two Day International Conference titled ‘Skills in Management and Applied Sciences’ was organized by the PG Department of Information Technology & Business Management and PG Department of Business Innovations, SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana in collaboration with Higher Education Institute Society (HEIS) on 24th - 25th April 2017. Dr. Sunil Mishra and Dr. Sahab Singh, both Associate Professor from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida chaired the session of the Conference and also presented their papers titled “Cognitive Learning through ICT” on 25th April 2017.

 

The objective of this conference was to explore the ideas of Commerce and Science scholars, industry experts and educational professionals by bringing them at a single platform to improve the awareness on recent trends in the field of Commerce, Management, IT etc.

 

The conference opened on 24th April 2017 and was graced by eminent guests:

1. Dr. Tejinder Sharma, Professor - Department of Commerce, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra;

2. Dr. Raj Kumar, Professor - Department Of Commerce, Himachal Pardesh University, Shimla;

3. Dr. Jasveen Kaur, Head - University Business School, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar;

4. Dr. B. B. Goel, Professor - University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh;

5. Dr. S. K. Chadha Professor - University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh;

6. Dr. Sanjay Modi, Professor and Senior Dean - Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar;

7. Dr. Navpreet Singh Noorie, Head - Department of Mathematics, Punjabi University, Patiala.

 

They were heartily welcomed by Dr. Dharam Singh Sandhu, the Principal - SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana.

 

The Principal elaborated upon the purpose of the conference which was to bring to fruition the mission of Prime Minister Narender Modi Ji to transform India with Skills and Innovations.

 

As is customary, divine invocation was sought with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest Mr. Nirmal Jain, MD, NEVA Group and Former Student of the College.

 

Addressing the participants Dr. Ashwani Kumar Bhalla, Convenor & Professor, SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana, welcomed all intellectuals, research scholars and participants and stressed that Skill Development and Knowledge Creation is one of the key areas where institutions and key decision makers need to focus upon.

 

Dr. Harbilas Heera, Associate Professor - Commerce presented a paper on the Finance to spread awareness of financial inclusion and its impact on the growth of an organization among participants.

 

Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra discussed the contribution of global integration and technologies as key factors in improving internal efficiency, promoting the quality of teaching - learning and also providing value - based education with fewer budgets.

 

Concluding the session Dr. Sahab Singh shared his views on the relevance of hypothesis, ANOVA, Chai, SPSS and other tools in carrying out qualitative research in various fields.

 

The conference was informative, knowledgeable and insightful as the participants got an opportunity to interact with the experts who came from across the globe. The researchers learnt the relationship between Applied Sciences, Skill Management, Mathematics and other disciplines.

 

The Conference ended with the distribution of Memento to the Guests and Participants.
