DRONACHARYA GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS, GREATER NOIDA
Faculty Development Program on Information Security Skill Development
ISEA LAB DeitY, New Delhi
December 17th - 27th, 2013
 

C-DAC Hyderabad and NIELT Gorakhpur jointly organized a Two Weeks Advanced Faculty Training on the topic ‘Information Security Skill Development’ at ISEA LAB, DeitY, New Delhi during 17th -27th December, 2013. Ms. Niti Gupta, Assistant Professor, Computer Science & Engineering Department,  Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida participated in this program. There were around 26 participants from different Engineering colleges across India.

 

The workshop theme ‘Information Security Skill Development’ was very contemporary as new technological innovations continue to proliferate in our society, so do the opportunities for Technology exploitation.

 

The complete FDP was divided into two parts. First part sessions were delivered by delegates Mr. Abhinesh and Mr. Pawan, VET, Gorakhpur. The modules were related to new trends in Cyber Forensic and Information Security skill development. Live servers were installed for the hands on sessions to make learning easier. The participants performed practical on the servers and evaluated the threats which occur during the accessing of Information on network and also see practically that how hackers hack the data while transferring from source to destination.

 

The later part of the FDP was handled by C-DAC Hyderabad. Mr. Akash and his team from C-DAC conducted practical sessions in the Labs. They covered the advanced features of Information Security on Virtual Training Environment.

 

The programme concluded on 27th December, 2013 with a valedictory session where the participants received their certificates of participation given by Shri. Girish Sahai, Joint Director, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Govt. of India.

 

The workshop was highly effective as it combined the disciplines of technology, business, organizational behaviour, cyber ethics and law. Faculty Members learned techniques used to detect, respond to and prevent network intrusions and the cutting edge technologies in information management, data protection and forensic investigation of information security threats.
