Thirty Students from CSE Department attended a one day workshop "Microsoft Tech Days" organized by Microsoft India at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi on 22nd March 2013. Tech Days is a premier technical event focusing on the technological innovation happening at Microsoft and bringing it to the students’ and developers’ community.

It was a unique opportunity for the students to listen to and learn from experts. Hundreds of technology professionals from across India come together at Tech Days to network with peers and experts, while diving deep into Microsoft technologies and learning about the latest products and solutions. The event is a forum where one can convert his/her dream ideas into apps on the Windows 8 or Windows Phone platform.

The Tech Days event on 22nd March 2013 was divided into two modules. One was for DEVELOPERS and the second was for IT PROFESSIONALS. Again the Developer module had a fork division as one for the Windows Azure platform and second for Windows 8.

The program commenced with the introductory speech by Mr. Balaji Kesavaraj, Director Cross Audience Marketing - DPE | Microsoft India. The speech was very encouraging for the Developers and IT Professionals. After the introductory speech Ms. Saranya Sriram, Developer Evangelist, Microsoft India and Mr. Harish Ranganathan, Web Developer Evangelist DPE, Microsoft India addressed the audience for the introduction and functionality of Windows 8 and its applications. Ms. Saranya Sriram demonstrated the user friendly interface of Windows 8 and applauded the developers team of Windows 8 for developing such a wonderful product.

During the final session of the event a Hands On-Lab session was conducted to allow the participants practically implement what was learnt throughout the day. The workshop gave a very deep insight to the audience about the current and future developments in the domain of information technology and the students had a great learning experience.
