ISOC Delhi Chapter Meeting
India Habitat Centre, New Delhi

An Internet Society Delhi Chapter Meeting was held on 20th November 2014 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Around 110 participants from different organizations across India attended this coveted event. Ms. Bhawna Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology along with two students Megha Rawat and Deepak Umredkar of Information Technology represented Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in this event.

 

The program started with a welcome address by Dr. Govind CEO, NIXI. He welcomed the chief guest and all dignitaries and presented bouquets to speakers as a token of gratitude.

 

Mr. Sunny, Executive, NIXI started the session on Internet Resource Management. He explained Internet Resource Management with the help of Aggregation and Portability of routers. He further discussed allocation policies of IPV4 and IPV6.

 

Mr. Ajay, another Executive from NIXI discussed about Indian Registry for Internet Names and Numbers (IRINN). IRINN's role is to assign IP addresses to organizations. He also explained Autonomous Number System Assignments and Reverse DNS Delegation.

 

First session was followed by an IRINN open policy meeting. Mr. Ajay Kumar, Manager NIXI, Mr. K.B. Narayanan, Advisor NIXI and Dr. Govind chaired the meeting.

 

Dr. Govind introduced the IRINN’s advisory board committee. Mr. Ajay Kumar spoke about IRINN objectives and activities. Mr. K.B. Narayanan emphasized on maximizing the use of internet in India. He said that every person in India should be internet literate.

 

Post lunch session was carried out by Mr. S.P. Jerath, Advisor- Telecom, Director-NIXI & Secretary ISPAI. He delivered a talk on cloud computing and discussed cloud service models, cloud framework and security issues in cloud computing.

 

Mr. Chaitanya Ramachandran, IT and telecommunications lawyer talked about Internet privacy. He discussed about Data Protection, Cyber Crimes, IT acts and Intellectual Property.
