Innovision - 2017

A Technical Project Competition, “Innovision - 2017” was organized by DGI Entrepreneurship Development Centre at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 1st April 2017 wherein students from all branches participated. The objective of the Project Competition was to create an eco-system for motivating students towards innovation and creativity. Emphasis was given on interdisciplinary projects leading to technology diffusion.

 

Following dignitaries graced the occasion as Guests of Honor:

1. Mr. B R Bhati - Chairman, IIA, Greater Noida

2. Mr. A K Ojha -  Asst. Director, MSME

3. Mr. Kapil Gupta -  President, Rotary Club, Greater Noida

4. Ms. Reema Garg – Head Business Development, iCONEX

 

Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga, Director - DGI Greater Noida welcomed the guests and addressed the students on importance of projects and business plans. Stress was laid on original thinking for simple systems to be developed for the benefit of social cause and community welfare. Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor (R&D) thanked the dignitaries for their presence which was a big motivation for the students to excel. He rendered a brief description of projects on display and exhorted the students to excel in the areas of innovation and creativity. Mr. B. R. Bhati appreciated the efforts put in by the students and advised them to be creative and productive to be successful in engineering profession.

 

The evaluation team consisted of three teams headed by Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga, Prof. B. L. Kauland Mr. K. L. Bhat. A total of 46 Projects were on display by the various departments as per the details given below:

3. ECE      – 07

4. EEE      – 02

5. CSE      – 10

6. CSIT     – 04

 

The projects were evaluated by the concerned teams in terms of idea, content, societal value, commercial aspect and innovativeness. Based on evaluation by the team, fifteen projects were shortlisted for funding for further development and scaling. The details are as follows:

ECE & EEE

1. Smart GSM Based Solar Powered Crop Harvester

2. Wireless Advance Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

3. Hand Talk

4. Bin-Bot

 

CSE, IT & CSIT

1. Petmon 

2. Saaksh

3. Knockout

4. Smart Weather Station

 

Mr. A. K. Ojha praised the projects and suggested that it should be uploaded on the website for the benefit of all.

 

The results were announced at the seminar hall by Prof. TPN Singh, who stressed that projects not selected were equally good and needed some improvements. Dr. S. K. Baggaappreciated the efforts put in by the students and wished them the very best in times to come.
