GRIDTECH-2013 EXHIBITION

New Delhi, 3rd – 5th April 2013

 
 

GRIDTECH-2013 organised during 3rd-5th April, 2013 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi focussed on new technology in transmission, distribution, smart grid/city, load dispatch and communication. The event was organized by POWERGRID in association with Ministry of Power and Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP).

 

About 130 students accompanied by 6 faculty members from Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering visited the exhibition on 3rd and 4th April 2013. The students got an opportunity to visit the stalls of India’s leading power sector companies like GE, ABB, SEIMENS, BHEL, etc.

 

These organizations showcased their Transmission, Distribution, Smart Grid, Load Dispatch and Communication expertise and know-how. Recognising the importance of development of smart grid / city for sustainable development, real life working of Smart Grid/City was showcased.

 

“Students Innovation Pavilion” was setup to enable student community and academic institutions to demonstrate working models of various new technologies in Indian context. IIT's, NIT's, GEC's and other premier engineering colleges including Dronacharya College of Engineering - Gurgaon, Bhartiya Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering - New Delhi, Jamia MilliaIslamia - New Delhi, Einstein College of Engineering – Tamil Nadu, Vidya Academy of Science and Technology - Kerela, A C Patil College of Engineering - Mumbai, Nirma University - Gujarat, etc.

 

GRIDTECH-2013 helped the students:

1. Discover the latest in power sector.

2. Gain an overall perspective on the Indian electrical market.

3. Know about various electrical manufacturing: machinery, products, consumables, service providers and
