Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering

Engineers will practice the profession of engineering using a systems perspective and analyze, design, develop, optimize & implement engineering solutions and work productively as engineers, including supportive and leadership roles on multidisciplinary teams.
Continue their education in leading graduate programs in engineering & interdisciplinary areas to emerge as researchers, experts, educators & entrepreneurs and recognize the need for, and an ability to engage in continuing professional development and life-long learning.
Engineers, guided by the principles of sustainable development and global interconnectedness, will understand how engineering projects affect society and the environment.
Promote Design, Research, and implementation of products and services in the field of Engineering through Strong Communication and Entrepreneurial Skills.
Five students participated and got recognition of excellence in the Interface session of Forex for You held at Epicentre, Gurgaon on 24 March 2012.
Re-learn and innovate in ever-changing global economic and technological environments of the 21st century.

Program Outcome (PO)

The successful graduate will develop ability to:

Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering in Mechanical Engineering.
Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
To identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
To function on multi-disciplinary teams.
To design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
Work professionally in mechanical systems areas.
Work professionally in thermal systems areas.
Apply principles of engineering, basic science, and mathematics to design and realize physical systems, components, or processes
Use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice like AUTOCAD.
Acquire knowledge of contemporary issues.
Design a system to meet desired needs within environmental, economic, political, ethical health and safety, manufacturability and management knowledge and techniques to estimate time, resources to complete project.
Recognize the importance of professional development by pursing post graduate studies or face competitive examinations that offer challenging and rewarding careers in Mechanical Engineering.
Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
Demonstrate the ability to function as a coherent unit in multidisciplinary design teams, and deliver results through collaborative research.
