CII & DRFHE HEALTH AWARENESS SESSION

DGI NSS WING, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Health Awareness Session on Diabetes in association with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE) on 18th November 2016. Students and staff from DGI, Greater Noida attended the session.

The program started with a bouquet presentation to Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Diabetologist by Prof. S.K. Bagga, Director, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. Dr. Sanjay Sharma began his session with recent National and International surveys on diabetes. He informed the audience that about 64.5 million people in India have diabetes.

Dr. Sharma suggested that exercise and Weight - loss plan for people can help in preventing Type 2 diabetes. Engaging in at least 30 minutes of Physical Activity, daily can help tremendously. He opined that people with no regards to Physical Fitness and Exercise along with heavy smokers are at a higher risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. The more a person smokes, the higher is their risk.

Dr. Sharma made a detailed presentation to educate the audience regarding diabetes, its symptoms and prevention.

The session came to an end with an interactive Q & A round. As a token of gratitude, he was presented with a memento by Prof. Bagga, for his valuable contribution in conducting the awareness session.
