Computer Society of India (CSI) organized a Summit on Digital India 2015 at its Golden Jubilee Year Celebration at India Habitat Centre New Delhi on 21st March 2015. The objective of the event was to prepare the strategies to transform India as a Digital Country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi. |

Dr. Santanu Koley, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the event as a delegate. |

The event began with lightning of lamp by the chief guest Mr. R. S. Sharma, Secretary, Deity and the convener of the event Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Ex-VC GGSIPU. After inaugural ceremony, Mrs. J. R. D. Kailay, DDG-National Information Centre talked about the benefits about E Governance such as e-Procurement, e-Office and PDS. In the session Dr. (Mrs.) Neeta Lal former president of CSI discussed how digital India can pave the way to brighten the future of India. |

Prof. K. K. Aggarwal talked about researches and new innovations in the field of techniques. Mr. Anil Srivastava, IAS JS, Civil Aviation discussed the pros & cons. of digital age. Mr. Srivastava further discussed the huge potential of Indian market with the implementation of suitable policies by the government. |

In the post lunch session Prof. S. D. Sharma, Chairman of CSI discussed about a massive $18 billion program to expand high-speed internet access by moving everything online. Dr. V. S. R. Krishnaiah, Senior Technical Director, National Informatics Centre (NIC), talked about the blueprint revolving the broadband highway at reaching digital India- e-governance, electronics manufacturing leading to ‘zero import’, universal phone access, electronic delivery of services, jobs, rural internet, information for all and ‘early harvest’ programs. |

The Digital India Summit panel discussion focused on the implementation of the 9 pillars of the Digital India Program - Broadband Highways, Universal Access to Mobile Connectivity, Public Internet Access Program, e-Governance: Reforming Government through Technology, e-Kranti: Electronic Delivery of Services, Information for All, Electronics Manufacturing, IT for Jobs and Early Harvest Programs and other critical themes like Net Neutrality and Digital Wallet. |

The summit had an impressive line-up of leading minds for the digital revolution from across the industry, government, academia and civil society. It provided a public platform to hold discussions that would prepare India to face technological challenges and devise solutions to contribute towards realizing the implementation objectives of Digital India. |

The event concluded with the worthwhile suggestions of the panelists to strengthen the digital India concept. The program put together a comprehensive vision by the eminent panelists, so that each of the pillars are seen as part of a larger goal to create Digital India. The valedictory session ended with the felicitation of Sh. Yudhister Sharma, Chairman, Sh. P.K. Aneja, Vice Chairman (Elect.), Sh. Vijay Kr. Gupta, Hony. Secretary, Dr. Ajay Kr. Bansal, Hony Treasurer and Sh. Shiva Dutt Sharma, Ex- Chairman of CSI present at the summit. |
