Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) organized the 5th International Exhibition and Conference- GRIDTECH 2015 from 8th to 10th April 2015 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi with the support of Ministry of Power, Government of India, in association with Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP) and Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA). |

The objective of this annual international Exhibition and Conference was to provide a platform to manufacturers, suppliers, academicians, consultants and students to showcase their State-of-the-Art technologies and products in the field of Transmission, Distribution, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy Integration, Communication etc. This international event along with concurrent conference provides a unique opportunity for the power utilities, planners, policy makers, regulators, manufacturers, research institutions, academicians, consultants etc. to get exposed to emerging technologies in the above fields for various applications. |

Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy, inaugurated the event. Speaking on this occasion Shri R N Nayak, Chairman & Managing Director, Power Grid Corporation of India, focused on the ambitious plan of the Govt. to provide 24x7 power to the whole country by 2019. He said that would require the deployment of latest technologies in the field of transmission, distribution, intelligent devices, information and communication technology. Further he mentioned that GRIDTECH 2015 was the foremost platform where all leading stakeholders reiterate their commitment to bring about a transformative change in the sector thereby ensuring quality as well as affordability of power for all citizens. |

More than 3000 projects were registered to get a chance to demonstrate working models in the Project Exhibition but only 40 Projects from 29 Engineering colleges were selected. One Project titled “Solar Powered Irrigation System” was selected from Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. The projectees, Vikash Kumar, Chandrashekhar Kumar Singh and Sangam Shakya, received a consolation prize of INR 10,000-(Rupees Ten Thousand). |
