Dr. Abhay Jere, Secretary, Organizing Committee, Smart India Hackathon 2017 organized an ‘Open Forum’ for the SPOCs and students of participating institutes. The Open Forum is a part of ‘India’s Idea Leadership Talk Series’.
‘India’s Idea Leadership Talk Series’ was successfully launched on 16th December 2016 with the first leadership talk by Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE and Chairman, Organizing Committee, Smart India Hackathon 2017 over Facebook Live.
The event was broadcast live at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. It was attended by the participants as well as other students.
In his address, Dr. Jere gave a glimpse of what Smart India Hackathon 2017 has in store for the students. He gave a detailed information about :
1. What is a Hackathon?
2. Why should the students participate?
3. What are the Modalities of Submission process ?
4. What are the Dos and Don’ts?
5. Important deadlines to be followed
Dr.Jere stressed that the students participating in the competition will have five major advantages:
1. Will become a technically better person.
2. Will have the opportunity of working on Live Projects.
3. Somebody may use their product.
4. Can win handsome prizes.
5.NASSCOM, AICTE, UGC, DST and several other agencies may help them in Start - Ups.
He also said that the winners get to earn name, fame and appreciation from different quarters.
Dr. Jere said that as of now, the city of Tel Aviv in Israel is the only Smart City in the world. India may become the second country with the inputs from its citizens.
