UPTU Noida Campus organized a Workshop on Spoken Tutorial-Making India IT Literate in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay on 22nd January, 2015. Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay is the brainchild of Prof. Karan Mudgalya nurtured by National Mission on Education Through ICT (NMETICT), MHRD, Govt. of India. The objective of the workshop was to train the faculty coordinators of UPTU affiliated colleges to roll out the Spoken Tutorial for the optimum benefit of this IIT Bombay initiative. Dr. Anupam Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the workshop. He is the Spoken Tutorial Coordinator for the Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities at the College. |

The session began at 11:00 AM with the welcome speech by Dr. Siddhartha Sen, Officer-In-Charge, UPTU, Noida Campus. He also made all the participants introduce themselves and their awareness about Spoken Tutorial. He put forth the agenda of the workshop. He said that Honorable VC of UPTU has recently signed an MoU with IIT Bombay to leverage the benefits of Spoken Tutorial for the students of UPTU. He also said that UPTU is planning to establish Employability Skills College and Design and Engineering College in near future. |

Ms. Madhukriti Srivastava, Executive Manager, Gujrat Head, Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay informed that according to the MoU signed between UPTU and IIT Bombay, at least two of the faculty members have to attend the workshop and in turn roll out the Spoken Tutorial certification courses at their colleges. She also shared her valuable experiences of Gujrat where students of Plus Two, MBA, MCA, even Arts are getting benefits of Spoken Tutorial. |

Ms. Anita Zala, Executive Manager, Uttar Pradesh Head, Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay focused on the importance of the certification courses of IIT, Bombay. She emphasized on its being free of cost and having IIT value. The knowledge gained during the workshop and the test of Spoken Tutorial will help students get good marks in university exams also. She informed that the Director of Technical Education, UP, has wished to provide training of Spoken Tutorial to all the private, govt. ITIs, Polytechnic colleges, even schools also in near future. Some of the universities of UP like Mahatma Gandhi University and Gorakhpur University have already signed MoU with IIT Bombay. |

Ms. Neha Srivastava, Training Coordinator, Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay focused on the FOSS like LIBREOFFICE, PYTHON, LINUX etc. She weighed that students having certificates from IIT Bombay have always edge over others. She urged that for better academic development and employability skills one must have such extra feathers on one’s educational cap. |

In the post lunch session Ms. Madhukriti Srivastav showcased the magical audio-visual tool for self-learning of software by students. She interestingly captivated the attention of the audience saying that Spoken Tutorial is of distance learning mode, at students’ own learning pace and so to say 100 per cent free of cost training, guidance, and certificates. She also informed that 5.5 lacks of learners nationwide have been certified till now. |

Dr. Anupam Kumar was called upon to share his experience as a Coordinator of Spoken Tutorial at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. He explained the practical aspects of inspiring and getting students certifies through online mode. |
