ABHINANDAN 2013

Colours of India reigned the campus as the Students, Staff and the Management of Dronacharya Group of Institutions celebrated Abhinandan 2013 – The Annual Freshers welcome function amidst lot of fanfare and festivities. The event marked the formal welcome of the B.Tech, MBA and MCA Batch of 2013, and saw enthusiastic participation from the eager seniors and ecstatic juniors who joined the Dronacharya Fraternity.

The occasion was graced by Chief Guest, Dr. Satish Yadav, Honorable Chairman, Dronacharya Group of Institutions and Guest of Honour, Shri Mukesh Rao, Director, Department Tourism, Govt. of Haryana. The event started with the garlanding of Ma Saraswati and Lord Ganesha followed by traditional tilak ceremony and pinning of badges.

The campus was decorated in myriad hues based on the theme of the event – Colours of India with posters, banners, graffiti and inspirational welcome messages. The same was reflected in the vibrant cultural performances put together by the students of senior batches, beginning with a mellifluous offering of prayers to Lord Ganesha for seeking HIS blessings for success of the newly admitted students. The cultural events comprised of a modern rendition of the Rasa Leela from Mathura in the Kishori Dance Event, a soulful rendition of Bhangra from Punjab, a riot of colours in the very energetic Maharashtrian Marathi Mulgi group dance sequence, a jubilant belly dance group sequence which was cheerfully received, and a scintillating and rocking Band performance by our very own Band strumming melodious compositions from various parts of the country.

The freshers too participated with zeal in the much awaited Mr. And Ms. Dron contest, and enchanted the audience with a dazzling display of talent. They chose to represent their states in the first round of the event, keeping with the theme. Ms. Rikanshi (CSE-8055) and Mr. Jaydeep (CSE-8030) got the title of Mr. and Miss Dron after three fiercely contested rounds and cumulative judgment of five judges.
