ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida conducted a 20 hour Course on Basics of ENTREPRENEURSHIP for the students at the campus on 4 working Saturdays with five hours session each in the month of February and March 2013.

The course was designed by National Entrepreneurship Network and instructed by Dr. Neelam Saxena, Department of Management Studies.

This introductory course in Entrepreneurship was designed for students to provide a hands-on experience in the process of creating new venture. It armed them with basic entrepreneurship skills and was divided in to following four sessions:

1. Introduction to Entrepreneurship.

2. Idea generation & Opportunity evaluation.

3. Business modelling and business plans.

4. Creating back-of the envelope cash flows.

The course was imparted with the following objectives to shape student abilities to:

1. Effectively generate and communicate business ideas in a structured environment

2. Evaluate opportunities using fixed parameters and frameworks

3. Develop initial business models

During the first session entrepreneurship was introduced as a concept to the students. Various exercises were conducted to act as ice breaker and getting to know the other participants. It was also designed to get the first flavour of creative thinking and innovative approach. The session also satisfied the answers to questions like:

“Who is an entrepreneur?” “What does it take to become one?”

“What is the entrepreneurial process?”

“What is the relevance of Entrepreneurship education?

Fourth session was about creating back-of the envelope cash flows wherein students were guided about the funding and money flow for their venture.

The course ended with certificate distribution to successful candidates.
