Faculty Development Programme 2013

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Gr. Noida conducted “Faculty Development Programme (FDP)” for the year 2013 for faculty members at the campus from 17th Jul 2013 onwards. The objective of the program was to infuse in the faculty, the importance of teaching skills and sense of responsibility towards the growth & development of students. A team of experts from Trainsplotting were invited to be the resource persons for the program. The organization imparts pedagogies for enhancement of skills, sense and attitude towards active learning.

The program was inaugurated on 17th Jul 2013 wherein Trainsplotting team consisting Mr. Amitesh Solanki (a learning facilitator and Researcher), Mr. Vivek Sharma (a solution designer and a software consultant) and Mr. Asit Bhalla (a software Engineer) were welcomed by Advisor (R&D), Prof. TPN Singh who expressed his thanks on behalf of the Institute for the teams visit. An encouraging and motivating talk was given by the Director, Dr. M. S. Murali emphasizing the need of the faculty to continuously upgrade themselves with latest technology and learning techniques.

The resource persons conducted a session on “Active Learning Pedagogies”. The key result areas were:

1. Contemporary Learning
2. Changing Parameters
3. Modern Learning
4. Pragmatic Pedagogies

Contemporary learning is only academic and knowledge based rather than being multidimensional. Focus was on changing parameters and the journey from contemporary to modern learning. The session travelled through each parameter in detail and explained modern learning in terms of creativity and innovation, inculcation of responsible and flexible learning habits, cause oriented learning, domain knowledge development and facilitation. An activity based on “flash card teaching” was explained in detail. This activity ensures assessment based peer learning and students takes the responsibility of enlightening themselves about targeted topics within the classroom itself. The session ended at 1:30 pm with vote of thanks rendered by Prof. TPN Singh. Ms. Megha Gaur, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Management anchored the program. The presentation by the faculties took place from 2:30 pm onwards.

FDP was conducted from 17th Jul to 20th Jul 2013 and from 26th Jul to 31th Jul 2013 both in morning and afternoon shifts.
