LAPTOP SCHEME

As part of the U.P. Government's laptop distribution scheme, a training session for the students were conducted at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. More than 500 students turned up for the training session which aimed to make them tech savvy and gain high level of knowledge. Students from colleges including DIT, Galgotia, FMG, G L Bajaj along with the host institution participated in the training session. This initiative has been taken by the UP government to encourage the students to pursue higher studies in future.

Two experts, Mr. Amit Kumar and Mr. Subhash Chand from HP India trained the students. The global IT major is working closely with the state government towards digital literacy in the classrooms.

The free laptops feature a 14-inch display and a 500GB hard disk along with 2GB RAM. It is also equipped with features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and has a battery life of minimum 3 hours. Along with a power slot, the laptop comes with 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, media card reader and a microphone port. There's also a VGA port along with ports for headphones and speakers. Apart from having a DVD writer, the laptops are equipped with Hindi, English and Urdu typing capabilities. The laptops come with Microsoft Security Essentials to keep the laptops virus-free. It also has MS-Office Pro Academic 2010. Among other accessories are a carry bag and a user manual.

Mr. Amit Kumar said that each laptop and its accessories have been given a unique serial number which is synchronized with the students' roll number, so that they don't face any problem during the service of their laptops. The students were very enthusiastic for this training.

DGI Registrar, Prof. B. L. Kaul presented Mementoes to the H P India executives in appreciation of their effort in training the students. He was all praise for the state Government’s determination to make all the students tech-savvy.
