Innovations - 2013, National Level Project Competition, was held at SIES Graduate School of Technology, Nerul, Navi Mumbai on 8th - 9th March 2013. It was organised by SIES GST, Nerul in association with Computer Society of India (CSI), Mumbai. Students from CSI Student Chapter of several colleges across India from different discipline showcased their projects in this event.

*Innovation - 2013* was a student initiative program organised for the first time by the CSI Student Branch of SIES GST. It aimed at providing a platform for building Engineers to present their innovative ventures to the larger part of the society.

On 8th March , 2013 the competition started with the inauguration ceremony at 10:00 AM by honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Tapas Kumar Biswas, Senior Manager, Service Logistics, Siemens Ltd. Dr. Alka Mahjan, Principal, SIES GST and Prof. Deepti Reddy Student Coordinator of CSI , SIES GST graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.

The projects were evaluated by professionals from industry as well as educational institutions.

Following judges were deputed to evaluate technical specification of the projects demonstrated by the students - 1. Mr. Narendra Rao, CEO - Kaize and Advan-t-edge 2. Mr. Mehul Bhavishi, CEO - Interactive Multimedia Technologies 3. Mr. Vijay Sharma, Research Scientist, BARC 4. Ms. Suhasini Sekar, Senior Faculty, Fr. Angel Polytechnic 5. Mr. T.V. Sivakamy, Indian Telecom Officer, MTNL 6. Dr. Shridhar L Bapat, Prof. IIT Bombay 7. Mr. Ravichadran, Head, Volkswagen National Services 8. Mr. Sharad Shrivastava , Senior Scientist

The competition was conducted into three different categories. Participants demonstrated 40 projects.

Two students from Dronacharya Group of Institutions Mr. Anand Kumar and Mr. Gagan Kohli both from Department of ECE - VI Semester demonstrated their project *“E-Wheel Chair”*. Due to its social significance this project was very much appreciated by the jury and the audience alike.The project is a reliable system for medically unfit. The wheel chair actions can be generated by gestures of bare hand to control the speed and steering angle.

On 9th March, 2013, Principal Prof. Dr. Alka Mahjan presented momentoes as token of reverence to all dignitaries of CSI and expressed her gratitude for sparing their valuable time for the competition.
