INNOVATION IN RURAL HEALTHCARE

Dr. Abhishek Swami, Dept. of Applied Science & Humanitiesof Dronacharya Group of Institutions attended the conference on Innovations in Rural Healthcare Management Solutions for the Last Mile Household was held on 11th December 2013 at PHD Chamber of Commerce, New Delhi.

Inaugural session started with the welcome address by Mr. Suman Joyoti, President of PHD Chamber.

It was followed by the key note address of PadamBhusan Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder, Sulabh International. He spoke about various health related problem in rural India and emphasized that we can make rural India more hygienic by motivating rural people to use toilets.

Technical session started with the address by Dr. T. P. Ahluwalia, Deputy Director General and Head, Division of Health System Research, Indian Council of Medical Research , Govt. of India. He discussed various issues related with public health system in rural areas and said that in rural area public health may also be triggered by various Environmental factors.

Session progressed with the valuable speech of Prof. Indrajit Bhattacharya, Additional Director, National Health Portal, and Centre for Health Informatics, National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW). Prof. Bhattacharya delivered an informative presentation; they suggested that Indian Government should introduce a national health portal. National health portal will provide valuable online health care support to the rural mass.

Dr. Surjit Nandy, Fonder, Raxa Healthcare Services emphasized formation of open source health care system software for rural mass. Dr. Nandy also discussed about various mobile apps which are easily available on Google app store.

The conference summed up with the vote of thanks by Mr. Saurabh Sanyal, Executive Director, PHD Chamber, New Delhi. All the participants enjoyed the learning environment and came intellectually satisfied.
