Following students and staff members of CSE Department attended a One Day National Workshop on Big Data Analytics at Amity University on 8th March 2013.

The objective of the workshop was to deliver information regarding need of managing Big Data which is emerging as a new challenge in almost every industry. The attempt of the workshop was to create an awareness among the students about big data and various strategies to manage it.

Delegates, faculties, students and experts from Jharkhand, M.P., Rajasthan, Karnataka etc. participated in the workshop. Inaugural session started with lighting of the lamp, seeking blessings of the Almighty.

The workshop started with a welcome speech by Dr. K.M Soni who welcomed the audience and the honourable speakers. It was followed by Ms. Nitasha Hasteer introducing the theme of WBDA 2013 to the audience.

During Plenary Session-I, experts shared valuable information on topics like “Data to Big Data: A Revolutionary Shift”, “The Age of Big Data”,“Data Centre for Big Data”,“Enterprise Applications of Big Data” etc through presentations and discussions.

Plenary Session II saw panel discussion and presentations on latest technologies in big data through tutorial by Mr. Himanshu Gupta and Mr. Nishant Garg (Impetus) on Big Data and its extension to IBM Big Insights and hands on session on Hadoop.

The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sapna Sinha, Asst. Prof, IT, ASET. Students were awarded the participation certificates and mementos.
