INDUSTRIAL TRIP_1 Mar 12

Industrial visit of IV semester Mechanical Engineering students was organized on 01 March 2012 to the following three core companies at Greater Noida:-

(a) Air Tech Industries
(b) D. B. P. Engineering Works
(c) Inno Color & compounds Ltd.

The composition of the team was as follows:-

Air- Tech Industries

This company is the manufacturer of plastic processing machines and allied equipment for the last one decade. They produce heating – cooling mixers, ribbon blenders, hopper loaders and allied machineries. Also, custom built equipments for chemical, pharmaceuticals, paints, food etc. is being manufactured. Mr. S. Chandrashekhar, Chairman of the company briefed the students about the company and its humble origin and the progress achieved in the last 10 years. The students were directed to the shop floor and the concerned supervisors explained the various processes in detail. A huge reactor mixer was undergoing spot welding and the students were able to correlate the welding process as taught to them.

D.B.P Engineering Works (P) Ltd.

The company manufactures all kind of sophisticated Dished Ends, Cones, Domes, Process plants & equipments. They also undertake designing, manufacturing, supply and Commissioning of different types of Gas plants like N2, H2, CO2 etc. and Process Plants Equipment. Mr. Vaibhav Gupta, Director and Mr. Rajnish Jain, General Manager greeted the students and explained the various manufacturing processes taking place. Different types of Press machines were in operation and the students got hands-on practical experience. End covers of mixers were being pressed to shape by skilled technicians which was noteworthy.

Inno Color & Compounds Ltd.

INNO COLOR & COMPOUNDS LTD. is an ISO9001: 2000 company and one of the fastest growing manufacturers of Master Batches and Polymer Compounds and marketing its product under the brand name INNO. The company manufactures tailor made color master batches and polymer compounds to meet all customer specific requirements. The plant is equipped with three master batch compounding line with capacity to produce 2000MT master batch annually and a Twin screw extruder with all necessary utility and supportive equipments to produce 1800MT compounds annually. The students were divided in two batches and were taken to each machine tool and explained the operations in detail. The making of master batch,color additive which is used for polymer products was highlighted.

The visit was very gainful and the students learnt a good deal about the numerous manufacturing processes. Mr. Chandrashekhar of Air-Tech industries has agreed to engage students for projects on Pro-E & Auto cad design and willing to visit the college for interaction with the students. After some healthy and meaningful discussions the team returned to the college.
